Dr. Paul Scott, Medical Director, Yeovil Health Centre said, “A record number of patients were seen here last Christmas and New Year.  We can treat all conditions which are not life threatening but need medical assistance quicker and to the same standard as emergency departments.

“We also provide emergency contraception and sexual health advice and treatment all over Christmas and the party season for anyone, you don’t need to be registered here, just make sure you come along as quickly as possible.

Dr Scott, added: “We’d ask all patients over Christmas to spend a few minutes considering the treatment that best meets their level of injury or illness over Christmas and as long as it isn’t life threatening then to visit us early on so they can get back to enjoying the mince pies and festive celebrations.  Yeovil District Hospital Accident and Emergency is for life threatening injury and illness, not a cut finger or sore throat.”
