Travel Plan

At Wincanton Health Centre we have a commitment to "green travel".  On this page you will find details of bus timetables and a map showing bus stops, footpath links and mobility scooter routes.

If you would like to cycle to the Health Centre you will find bicycle racks adjacent to the main entrance where your bike can be left securely.  Remember, walking or cycling not only benefits the environment but also your own health and fitness.

Bus companies who operate a service between the surrounding villages and Wincanton include South West Coaches (www.southwestcoaches.co.uk/timetables) and Nippy Bus(www.nippybus.co.uk).  Timetables can be found on these websites and are also displayed on noticeboards within the Health Centre.

The "Ring and Ride CAT" scheme is a demand-responsive transport scheme using minibuses.  It serves the main towns of Bruton, Castle Cary and Wincanton, and surrounding villages.  The transport is available to people of all ages who live on a normal bus route but are unable to use it because they have mobility difficulties.  Details of how to register with this service can be obtained by ringing 01963 33864.

Useful guides about walking in Wincanton can be found at www.localauthoritypublishing.co.uk or www.cwr.naturalengland.org.uk  The journey planner at this site includes an option to help you find the best walking route between any two points.

Further information can be found at the Wincanton Town Council website (www.wincantontowncouncil.co.uk).
